Contract Process
Hiring someone to turn your idea into a successful website a can be a daunting procedure. The cradle to grave set processes that I apply to all contracts ensure that the client is always in complete control and there are no nasty suprises!
The steps below illustrate the typical processes involved in all contracts that I undertake, from initial contact all the way through to the completion of the project.
1 : Contact
The first step is easy! You can contact me by emailing ian@zewdoo.co.uk or by completing the contact form on this site.
Whether it's just to ask whether I can do something or to give me your whole requiement specifications, all data sent to me is privacy protected and will not be viewed by anyone else.
2 : Initial Requirements
The second step is making sure that we're both on the same page regarding exactly what you need. This can be conducted in whichever manner best suits you, either by phone, skype or emails.
3 : Initial Quote
Once we're both speaking the same language, I will then be able to give you a quote for both the cost and time required to complete your project.
4 : Client Login
If you agree to the quote, you will be given a client login to this site. Once logged in, you will have access to your project's control panel.
From the control panel you can see my progress (updated regularly), system prototypes (described in the next stage) and can make additional requests.
5 : Detailed Requirements
The detailed requirements stage is the first where a payment is required. This is £75 and will be taken off of the final bill.
During this stage, I use a tool called 'Balsamiq Mockups' to quickly develop a prototype of project, uploaded directly to your control panel.
The mockups allow us to quickly pinpoint any parts of the project that need additional attention which may have been hard to see until a visual representation had been made.
5 : Contract
A contract will be sent out that outlines all areas of the project to be developed and the functionality that each require. The contract will also define the cost and timeframe that I have quoted.
After a signed contract is returned I will begin work on the project. At any point in the development cycle, you can see progress information and request additional functionality through your control panel which can be added as an ammendment to the contract.
Half of the quoted price (minus the initial £75) is required at this stage.
6 : Sign Off
Once all development and testing has been undertaken and you are happy that the project has been completed, it will be signed off.
The remaining balance is required at this stage and unless you wish to delete your control panel at zewdoo.co.uk, it will still be available for you to make any future additions to your project.
