Hardknock
Requirements
Hardknock is a monthly event organised by UK Producer/Singer Goldilocks. The requirements for the site fell into into three main categories:
User Experience
The site's template needed to look professional, have 'Gallery' and 'Events' sections as well as a link to Goldilock's store.
Site Administration/Content Management
From a secure administrator section of the site, Goldilocks, or whoever she gave access to, could manage the gallery, event details and user accounts.
The administration section of the site needed to ensure that all content management could be controlled via web, eliminating the need for any code development.
Secure Download Code Management
Although this section could fit into the above, I have made it its own section as it was probably the site's key attribute and also required the most attention.
At the Hardnock shows, Goldilocks sold cards with a unique download code on them that could be entered into the site to generate the download for the user.
In order to accomodate for this, the download would have to be generated in such a fashion that the physical location of the album was secure and the was accessible only when a valid code was entered for the first time. The administration section of the site needed to allow for the management (including addtion) of download codes.
The Solution
The site was developed over a week to the exact specifications that Goldilocks had defined. The album had numerous downloads and the Hardknock shows were a big hit. Unfortunately Hardknock is currently on hiatus but will hopefully return soon!
