Share Residence

Overview

Share Residence is a company based in Tokyo that currently owns and operates three share houses. In recent years the reputation of share houses has changed dramatically in Japan and what were once seen as less desirable living conditions are now incredibly popular. This is in part due to companies such as Share Residence who are eager to go that extra mile and spend the extra costs required to ensure that their guests live in luxury.

The website is currently split into three sections (one for each of the residences) but as the number of houses is guaranteed to increase, additional residences can be effortlessly be added by the staff at Share Residence via the custom made Content Management System (CMS) that I developed.

Along with the website's design and the CMS, the website also has a resident area, allowing the residents of each house to create their personal profile and interact with their housemates. A house wall and the ability for people to create events allows for social intereaction before a guest has even moved in.

 

Functionality

 

The Share Residence staff's CMS provides:

  • The ability to add & remove additional languages
  • A truely dynamic bespoke CMS which ensures that all content, in any added language can be edited by someone with no computer skills.
  • The ability to add, edit and rtemove residences.
  • A private messageing system between residents and Share Residence staff.
  • A prospective residents section with comments so Share Residence's staff are always aware of who has contacted who etc.
  • Admin staff management.
  • The ability to publish and edit 'public' and 'resident' news.
  • The ability to publish and edit 'event' details and to get feedback regarding who is attending.
  • The ability to update room availabilty and room pricing.

 

The resident's social environment provides:

  • The ability to add, edit or remove information about themseleves including photos.
  • The ability to set their privacy settings.
  • The ability to send & receive private messages between Share Residence staff and other residence.
  • A house wall that everyone cancontribute to.
  • The ability to publish and edit 'event' details and to get feedback regarding who is attending.
